Getting Started in Real Estate
Starting any new career is both exciting and scary. Real Estate can be an even more uncertain transition for professionals coming from other traditional salary-based industries. Getting Licensed
Every state requires that you are licensed as a real estate agent in that state before you can begin assisting buyers and sellers. To gain your licensure you will need to take a class, usually lasting several weeks, and then pass a test. Most states will allow you to take the courses online but some will not. Classes start from about $1500 and go up from there again, depending on your state. Check with your state real estate licensure board to learn more or contact a <Company Name> career advisor.
Start Up Costs
Besides the cost of getting your license and taking your classes there are several fees and start up costs that you will need to consider.

- Business cards, brochures and other promotional material

- Professional Attire
- Vehicle repair, detailing, or replacement if necessary
In addition, because it can be as long as several weeks to several months before you see your first commission check you will also need to set aside money for you and your family to live off of while you are getting your new business started.
