Every state requires that you are licensed as a real estate agent in that state before you can begin assisting buyers and sellers. To gain your licensure you will need to take a class, usually lasting several weeks, and then pass a test. Most states will allow you to take the courses online but some will not. Besides the cost of getting your license and taking your classes there are several fees and start up costs that you will need to consider.
