Continuing Education
A great agent is also a lifelong learner. There is no end to the opportunities for professional development and enrichment an ambitious REALTOR® can utilize. Many states require that agents take a class or two every couple of years to help keep them up to date in this fast paced industry. Even if your state does not require it, continuing your education is a great way to keep you in top shape, help you reach new markets, and make sure you understand the needs of your clients. Here are a few of the opportunities available:
- Short Sale and Foreclosure Certification – Will help you learn to negotiate with lenders, help purchase foreclosures and short sales, and help sellers qualify for short sales.
- Commercial Real Estate Education – Once you have mastered residential real estate you can break into commercial real estate as well.
- GRI – This is an advanced certification you can earn by completing coursework through REALTOR.org. It covers marketing, servicing, and real estate law in depth.
- Green Designation – Trains REALTORS® in what “green” buyers are looking for and how to help them find it, as well as how to market earth friendly homes.
In addition you can also earn your brokers license, attend free webinars and classes offered by REALTOR.org and C21 Four Seasons Select Properties, or simply continue your education by reading and studying on your own. The opportunities are endless.
