You've found the home of your dreams. It's the right size, in the best neighborhood and the kids are already picking out their bedrooms. So, what's next?
Hopefully you have already gotten pre-approved for a home loan. Your real estate agent will help you submit an official offer on the home. They will help you determine what the best amount will be and you should also gather the following information before deciding what to offer a seller:
Once you have determined the amount you would like to offer your real estate agent will submit a written offer to the sellers agent. Sometimes the seller will accept your offer right away but normally they will make you a counter offer. You can then choose whether to accept their offer or make a counter offer of your own.
When you and the seller have agreed upon a price the contract you enter into is contingent upon you getting your financing and the house passing inspections. You or the seller may also add other contingencies.
