Finding a Mortgage Company

Sorting through the many choices you have to finance your home can be daunting. Your real estate agent can make recommendations. You could also start by talking to the loan officer at your bank, or ask your family and friends for recommendations. Whatever lender you choose, be sure to ask them the following questions during your first meeting:

• What interest rate do you offer?
• What type of loan do you recommend for me?
• What are all the costs associated with a loan?
• Is there a prepayment penalty?
• How much time do you need to process the loan?
